Toby was a beautiful Golden Retriever mix who came to us years ago suffering from chemical burns over a large portion of his body. Despite his dire condition, our medical team could see the fight in his eyes and proceeded with weeks of intense treatment. He bounced back stronger than ever and was quickly adopted by a new loving family. His story inspired all of us at the shelter, just like so many of the others animals that now benefit from the fund named in his honor. Toby’s Fund provides the medical care necessary to treat and save abused, neglected and abandoned animals.
Each year, over 8,000 at risk animals come through our doors. Charleston Animal Society embraces all animals regardless of their condition, age or breed and provides medical and behavior treatment, along with lots of love. As we continue to treat the most difficult cases of animal abuse and neglect throughout Charleston County there simply are not enough dollars to keep up with the volume of medical needs without our largest fundraising project: our Firefighter Calendar. Our Firefighter Calendar allows us to save lives at the capacity that we do and financially sustain our No Kill Community. Be a hero for abused and abandoned animals by joining with our Firefighters and helping us do what we do best….save lives.
